This welcoming straight away “handshake” hole
affords a generous landing area from the panoramic elevated tee box. A stand of Redwoods down the right side and sand bunkers long down the left fairway frame your tee shot. Only long hitters can reach this green in two. Deep sand bunkers short right and along the left side guard your approach shot into this right to left sloping green with a spine dividing it diagonally.

This all uphill par 4 plays longer than its yardage. The staggered fairway bunkers shorter left and longer right give players strategic choices from the slightly elevated tee box over the picturesque pond. Plan an extra club on your long approach shot. The hole placed in the front lower basin could allow for an interesting birdie putt opportunity. You’ll need to make sure your ball stays on the upper plateau if the pin is back or right.

This birdie opportunity shorter par 5 has a generous landing area short of the two fairway bunkers deep on the left guarding the “go zone”. A layup short or right of the lake is a wise conservative path to this wide green. The green has a backstop and spine running back to front that will propel your ball towards various pin placements. From the fairway view, you can get visually fooled by the distance the sand bunker in front of the green.

The shortest par 4 presents some choices from either of the upper or lower tee boxes. The fairway slopes downwards leaving an uneven stance after about 150 yards out from the green, so some lay back and others go for the lower closer landing area at about 100 yards out. From the tees the fairway appears wider on the right side than the fairway is cut. Shots landing on the left side of the green are susceptible to run all the way off the green.

This long par 3 has a visually deceptive fairway bunker short of the left side landing area that funnels shots to this large back to front sloping green. A large sand bunker can gather shots hit short and right. There are deceptive reads towards the right side of this subtle putting surface.

Heading back to the clubhouse turn, the picturesque tee shot must stay away from the lush lake that runs along the right side. Staggered fairway bunkers shorter left and longer right leave plenty of room in the middle of this par 5. Only the long hitters can go for it, while others will need to stay left or short of another sand bunker narrowing the fairway along the layup stretch. Bunkers front left and right and a slick sloping green front insist you have enough club approaching.

You’ll need to choose your tee shot strategy on this downhill then uphill par 4 with fairway bunkers mid length right and long left the preferred angle in due to a menacing grove of Oaks on the right. There are no surrounding sand bunkers to contend with, however the ridge dissecting the left front plane makes putts from other levels extremely challenging. Anywhere below the hole here is a good place to putt from.

Arguably North Ridge’s new signature hole, this picturesque downhill par 3 requires an accurate tee shot. The sand bunker to the left and the stone walled lake on the right side tend to gather many errant shots. A chip or putt from short left to any hole placement is not a bad strategy. Pitches and putts from the high side towards the lake can be precarious at best.

One of the longest par 4’s on the course this slight dogleg left rewards long tee shots over the left fairway bunker by kicking the ball forward as well those on the right fairway funneling the ball forward towards center. Mid to long iron approach shots into this large green find subtle contours on a right pin. Get ready for a roller-coaster ride putting to a left hole location.

This hard dogleg left par 4’s imposing fairway bunker makes it the leading risk reward tee shot on the course. Even if you clear the steep bunker, the slope can kick you through the fairway leaving you blocked out by the large trees on the right. The farther right your tee shot lands the longer your second shot. The bunker straight away also gathers long drives down the center. There is bail out space left and right to compliment the sand bunkers front and back of the wide but shallow elevated green.

The elevated tee box gives you a great view down this dogleg right of a fairway bunker that is much longer than how wide it appears. The right side hill feeds approach shots into this tiered green. If the hole is cut on the lower plateau you’ll need to be below the hole for any chance. Sand bunkers left and behind the green protect from the OB beyond.

Rated as the #1 handicap this long par 5 fairway has a subtle left to right sloping landing area narrowed by 2 long fairway bunkers along the right side. Your second shot will need to stay left of or go over the majestic old growth Oak tree on the right 150 yards from this elevated green. Beyond the Oak the fairway slopes severely right to left leaving only uneven lies from 110 yards and in.

The lake’s edge at the end of the fairway of this relatively short par 4 gives you club options off of the tee. A large tree over the hill on the right and a stand of Redwoods left of the lakes edge can easily block out what needs to be a confident lofted shot into this semi-island green. Although the beautiful stone wall appears horizontal to the eye from the fairway, the father left your shot is the longer it will need to be to carry the water. Long beyond the green is not an easy place to pitch from. Chipping up from the short right side may be a wise option. Don’t be fooled by the old adage that all greens break towards the water.

This last par 3 features 2 distinct looks from either of the back or upper tee boxes where each are framed by a large tree and partially over the lake along the right side. It will take a full mid to long iron to clear the ominous sand bunker across the front right of this 3 tiered green. The front to back swale through the middle of this green makes for creative putting to pins on any of the levels.

A great slightly uphill par 5 finishing hole where very few can reach in 2 shots. Off the tee you see a bunker positioned on the left side of the fairway in the landing zone urging your drive to stay right or short. Shape your 2nd shot on the left side to avoid the large fairway bunker highly visible to the right. The deep sand bunker center front urges you to stay right, long or feed in from the left off the sloping hill. If the pin is located in the lower front of this large green you will definitely want to be putting or chipping from below the hole.
